The funds raised through Racine County Support Our Law Enforcement (S.O.L.E.) play a vital role in enhancing the capabilities of local law enforcement, supporting both officers and their K9 partners. Your generous donations have been used in a variety of impactful ways, including the following initiatives:

2023 S.O.L.E Awards

K9 Units: Grants in 2023 helped purchase new K9s for local law enforcement agencies, ensuring they have skilled canine partners. The following K9s were added in 2023:

K9 Clyde, RCSO

K9 Cain, RCSO

K9 Gus, RSCO

K9 Loki, RPD

K9 Kilo, SPD

K9 Aspen, MPPD

Exercise Equipment for MPPD: Grants funded the purchase of exercise equipment for the Mount Pleasant Police Department (MPPD), promoting officer wellness and fitness.

K9 Kala Training: Specialized training was provided for K9 Kala, enhancing the effectiveness of our K9 units.

RASO Laforge Family Support Fund: A portion of the funds was dedicated to the RASO Laforge Family Support Fund, assisting the families of law enforcement officers in times of need.

BUPD Bike Patrol: Support was provided for the Burlington Police Department (BUPD) Bike Patrol, helping officers patrol effectively while engaging with the community.

MPPD K9 Challenge Coins: Grant funded the purchase of additional challenge coins for K9 Kala.

K9 Quilts: S.O.L.E. sponsored custom quilts for the following K9’s for their retirement or end of watch:

Annual K9 Handler Award

Following the Racine Policeman’s Ball each year, the funds raised directly support the dedicated K9 units serving the Racine community. Racine County K9 Units receive $1,000 for each actively serving K9 within their unit, recognizing the hard work and commitment of these incredible dogs and their handlers. These teams play a vital role in keeping our community safe, and thanks to your generosity, we’re proud to support them. The Racine County K9 units are 100% donation-funded and rely on community contributions to cover their costs—your support makes a real difference!
